Parent Commissioning

Our Kids ministry exists to partner with parents to help them be the primary disciple makers in the lives of their children. We know that the gospel goes where it is preached and taught, so we regularly commission parents as a church family to hear and accept the calling as disciple makers for their kids.

Our next commissioning date is TBD.

Meet Jesus. Make Friends.

*Grove Kids is currently in the process of re-opening. We hope to reopen in the fall of 2021.

Meet Jesus

Every Sunday, your children will learn about Jesus and the gospel in age-appropriate ways as they journey through the Bible and see God’s amazing love for them. We want kids to see that the whole Bible points to King Jesus, the global glory of God, and their need for personal repentance and faith. We also work on memorizing scripture every week.

Make Friends

At The Grove, we love kids and teaching them about Jesus in fun and compelling ways! Your kids will hear an engaging story straight from the Bible, worship, color and draw, pray, and play games with other Grove kids, making some friendships along the way!

Make Disciples

Our goal is to come alongside parents, equipping them to lead and shepherd their children well, preparing to send them out into the world in Jesus’ name!

We offer parents review sheets of the lesson with questions for parents to use to engage with their children about the week’s passage as an aid for your at-home discipleship. We encourage you to memorize the memory verses alongside your child and model prayer, Bible reading, and a Christ-exalting life at home.

Grove Kids FAQ

Who can be a part of Grove Kids?

Children 6 weeks of age to 6th grade will be provided a safe and nurturing age-appropriate classroom lead by fully approved Kids volunteers.

What does a Sunday look like?

As kids walk into the room, they are already engaging with the lesson through opening activities. From there, the kids continue to learn through bible stories, crafts, games, scripture memory, and journaling time. Pre-school and Elementary aged children engage in separate times of large group worship where they sing, hear a teaching moment,
and pray together. After worship, kids go back to their classrooms, have an allergy safe snack, and wrap up the lesson in time for parents to pick them up.

How can I prepare for my first Sunday?

You can avoid the lines and pre-register your family online. When you arrive to the The Grove, simply tell a waiting team member that you pre-registered as well as your last name and they will print the security tags for the children along with a pickup ticket.

If you do not pre-register, a team member will help you fill out the information form and print you a security tag and pickup ticket in the Kid’s lobby. They will walk you through the Kid’s space, drop your children at their classroom, and then direct you to the worship center.

How do we keep kids safe?

We take child safety very seriously at The Grove. Every member of the the Grove Kids team is background checked and has participated in an application and an on-going training process (both for teaching and for child safety.) Pickup tickets matching the child’s name tag are required for a child to be checked out.  Grove Kids volunteers are never alone with children; we have at least two adults present at all times.
